TAMPA, Fla. — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) has contained a large brush fire covering approximately 400 acres in Alafia River State Park, near Thatcher Road.
Officials say they are coordinating with the Florida Forestry Service and have deployed 22 units to the scene.
Firefighting efforts were ongoing for three hours with no reported injuries or risk to structures.
Residents nearby may experience smoke and should remain aware of the situation as HCFR continues to monitor and respond.
