Friday, March 13

Firestone Grand Prix of St. Pete

When: March 13-15
Where: Downtown St. Pete
Cost: $25 single day tickets
Info: Get ready to race to Downtown St. Pete to experience the Firestone Grand Prix! The annual event runs from March 13-15. The races take place between Pioneer Park and Albert Whitted Park, at 1st Street S. and 5th Avenue S. Enjoy practices, qualifying rounds and races for Indy Lights, SRO, Porsche GT3 Cup, NTT INDYCAR SERIES and much more!

Sarasota St. Paddy’s Festival

When: March 13-15
Where: JD Hamel Park, Sarasota
Cost: Free Admission
Info: Come share in the festivities as we celebrate all things Irish at the premiere of the Sarasota St. Paddy’s Festival. The event will be held in JD Hamel Park in downtown Sarasota at Gulfstream Ave. and Main St. on March 13-15. Great food and outstanding live music, as you enjoy the weekend in style! St. Paddy’s Day festivities begin Friday evening 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. and continue Saturday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Leprechaun’s Run

When: 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Where: Al Lopez Park, Tampa

Info: The Leprechaun is coming back for a third year and it's time to run for that pot of gold! The Leprechaun's Run will have the same events as previous years. Choose to run either the 5k, 10k, Kids Fun Run, or the popular and grueling 15k Leprechaun's Challenge! Don't miss out on this incredible event where runners will enjoy family-friendly music, free finisher photos, finish line food, and so much more. All finishers will earn a finisher medal and a t-shirt. And don't forget to wear green!

Solar Vortex Grand Opening

When: 9:30 a.m.
Where: Adventure Island at 10001 McKinley Drive, Tampa

Info: America's first dual tailspin water slide is coming to Tampa! Solar Vortex is a high-thrill family raft slide that combines high-banking rotations and rapid descents, sending sliders on a swirling journey through two open tailspin features as riders reach up to 20 mph. Annual pass holders can preview the new ride on Friday, March 13.

Tampa Bay Fossil Fest

Where: Florida State Fairgrounds, Tampa
Cost: Adults $8 | Kids 12 and under free
Info: The 33rd annual Tampa Bay Fossil Fest will feature the best displays of fossils, minerals, gems, artifacts shells, paleo workshops, kids games, raffles, and so much more.

Shamrock River Festival

When: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Where: Water Works Park

Info: You better wear your green! Partake in Irish food, drinks, collectables, local art, handmade jewerly and home decor at the Shamrock River Festival at Water Works Park.

Mayor's River O'Green Fest

Info: Get your party on this year as the Hillsborough River will once again be dyed green for the Mayor’s River O’Green Fest in downtown Tampa. This enormous St. Patrick's Day party features an Irish-themed party at Curtis Hixon Park in Downtown Tampa. There will be plenty of live entertainment, games, kids activities, food trucks, and of course, beer.

Tampa Water Lantern Festival

When: 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Where: SunWest Park, Hudson

Info: Water Lantern Festival is coming to light the water in Tampa Bay. Come experience the Water Lantern Festival with your friends and family as the floating lanterns create a peaceful, memorable experience for everyone. The price covers the cost of collecting and removing the lanterns from the water following the event as well as cleaning up any trash that may have been previously been in or around the water.

St. Louis Battlehawks vs. Tampa Bay Vipers
