St. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Despite its name, the upcoming season of the popular reality television series "Floribama Shore" will now take place down in St. Petersburg for its third season.

According to a Visit St. Petersburg Clearwater official, MTV began filming for the reality television series in the area Monday. The show took place in Panama City Beach during the first two seasons.

Floribama Shore highlights eight young men and women who live together for the summer, according to MTV. During their time in the show, they are filmed partying, working and bonding together.

Pinellas County continues to be a hot destination for movies and television shows. In March and April, production crews made their way to Safety Harbor and Treasure Island to film Hallmark movie "Love in the Sun."
