CLEARWATER, Fla. — Recently, TripAdvisor named Clearwater Beach the best beach in America for the second year in a row. You can help it stay the best by volunteering for the next Clearwater Beach Cleanup Day.
"Beach cleanups are extremely important, especially after a busy holiday, to keep Clearwater's famous sugar sand clean and pristine while also helping keep waterways and marine life clean of trash and debris," city officials said in a press release.
The cleanup day will take place Friday July 5, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. The city is looking for more than 30 volunteer to help cleanup after Fourth of July celebrations.
Volunteers are not required to stay for the full two hours, and all ages are encouraged to participate — so bring the kids! The city's Parks and Recreation Department will provide all the necessary cleanup materials.
