Fourth of July events going on in the Tampa Bay area

TAMPA, Fla. — Looking for something to do this 4th of July? There are so many firework shows and celebrations to choose from around the Tampa Bay area.

Pinellas County

Tarpon Springs 4th of July Picnic
When: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: Craig Park, Tarpon Springs
Cost: FREE
Info: There will be a live band from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you are 16 and older you can enter the hotdog eating contest that takes place at noon. There will be waterslides so don’t forget to bring your bathing suites and towels! Catch some fireworks from 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Howard Park afterward.

Downtown St. Petersburg

When: 9 p.m.
Where: Albert Whitted Park
Cost: Free
Info: Enjoy fireworks from downtown St. Pete! The fireworks will be synchronized to music accessible through a free phone app called J&M Displays. Viewing is recommended from Albert Whitted Park, North Straub Park, South Straub Park, North Shore Park, Elva Rouse Park and Flora Wylie Park. Fireworks are scheduled to start at 9 p.m. but can start as early as 8:30 p.m. and as late as 10 p.m. depending on weather.

Rock the Beach in St. Pete
When: 2 p.m.
Where: Upham Beach, St. Pete Beach
Cost: FREE
Info: Enjoy free live music performed by Brian Caudill Band from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Fireworks starts at 9 p.m. at the County Beach Parking lot.

Gulfport's July Fourth Celebration
When: 8 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Where: locations throughout Gulfport
Cost: FREE
Info: Wake up the kids and head over to Gulfport to participate in Marina’s Fishing Derby or the Free Family Sand Sculpture Contest at 9 a.m. At 6 p.m. the streets will turn red, white and blue with floats. Top it all off with a firework display at 9 p.m.

Largo July 4th Celebration
When: 6 p.m.
Where: Largo Central Park, Largo
Cost: FREE
Info: The celebration at Central Park begins at 6 p.m. with food, a pie eating contest and video game trucks for all ages, followed by a fireworks show around 9:15 p.m. Admission is free and activity wristbands are available for purchase.

Clearwater 4th of July
When: 6 p.m.
Where: Coachman Park, Clearwater
Cost: FREE
Info: Bring your family and friends to Coachman Park for food and entertainment. End the night with a patriotic performance by Coachman Park Pops Orchestra. Expect traffic delays due to the Memorial Causeway Bridge being closed.

Treasure Island July 4th Fireworks
When: 9 p.m.
Where: Treasure Island

Info: Watch as Treasure Island lights up with fireworks on the beach at 9 p.m. Off-site parking is available, $15 per vehicle.

Safety Harbor July 4th Fireworks
When: 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Where: Safety Harbor Marina, Safety Harbor
Cost: FREE
Info: Bring the whole family out for a July 4th celebration Safety Harbor-style! There will be children's activities, live entertainment, food vendors, and plenty of fun for the whole family. Get a good seat in the Marina or the Waterfront Park because the best fireworks display in Tampa Bay goes off at exactly 9 p.m.

Hillsborough County

Boom by the Bay
When: 4 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Where: locations around Downtown Tampa

Info: Participate in Tampa’s new tradition by celebrating Independence Day with live entertainment and four firework displays. The fun will take place in Waterworks Park/Armature Works, Julian B Lane Riverfront Park, The Tampa Convention Center/The Sail and Sparkman Wharf.

Watch Fireworks from The American Victory Ship
When: 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Where: The American Victory Ship at 705 Channelside Drive, Tampa
Cost: $13/Adults; $7/youth 4-12; $10/active military and veterans
Info: You can watch the Boom by the Bay Fireworks on the ship at 6:30 p.m. There will be musical entertainment and a special kids zone with face painters.

Godfrey Hotel Fireworks and Music
When: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Where: wtr Tampa on the Courtney Campbell Causeway, Tampa

Davenport 4th Celebration
When: 3 p.m. - 9:45 p.m.
Where: Lewis Mathews Sports Complex, Davenport

Info: Enjoy live entertainment, food and fireworks. No personal fireworks allowed, lawn chairs welcome.

Lake Wales Fireworks
When: 2 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Where: Lake Wailes Park, Lake Wales
Cost: FREE
Info: There will be music, games, pony rides, face painting, food, and much more. End the night with a firework show at 9:15 p.m.

Bartow July 4th Fireworks
When: 2:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Where: Mosaic Park, Bartow
Cost: FREE
Info: Kick off the day at Mosaic Park Bartow with live music, food vendors and much more. The Bartow Adult Concert Band is from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Seats are first come, first served.

Lakeland Flying Tigers Baseball
When: 5 p.m.
Where: Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium, Lakeland

Hernando County

Smash'm Up Demolition Derby & Fireworks
When: 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Where: Hernando County Fairgrounds, Brooksville
Cost: FREE
Info: Get ready for a day filled with games, bounce houses, food and music. General admission is free, but Demolition Derby prices are $5 for kids 4 -12 years old and $10 for 13 and up.

Sarasota County

Venice Independence Day Fireworks
When: 9 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Where: Humphris Park (South Jetty), Venice
Cost: FREE
Info: The annual fireworks will be shot from the South Jetty. The Jetty and Jetty Jacks Refreshment Deck will be closed for safety, but the firework display can be viewed on area beaches from Caspersen to Nokomis, as well as from other places around Venice. Boats should be at anchor by 8:30 p.m. to view the show and guests are advised to not bring pets or fireworks.

Manatee County

Independence Day Buffet & Fireworks on the Manatee River
When: 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Where: Pier 22 Restaurant, Bradenton

Celebrate America’s independence July 4, 5 AND 6 with LEGOLAND. There will be activities such as LEGO builds, and the biggest fireworks show of the year.

Busch Gardens 4th of July Fireworks
Celebrate Independence Day with a fireworks show and thrill rides at night! Watch the skies of Tampa Bay light up in red, white, and blue at the Busch Gardens 4th of July celebration. This event is included with park admission. Event dates and details subject to change and/or cancellation without prior notice.

SeaWorld Firework Show
Families and friends can enjoy one of Orlando’s most magnificent fireworks displays. The night sky will light up with fireworks, pyrotechnics and lasers during a one-of-a-kind, patriotic finale to “Ignite,” SeaWorld’s new end-of-day spectacle. Fireworks are included with park admission and can best be viewed from Bayside Stadium.
