It's been labeled the graveyard for furniture off Dale Mabry Highway, where people illegally dump everything from furniture, tires, and landscaping materials.

Pasco County officials have blocked off the side road that has become more like a landfill with large concrete barricades to stop the dumping. The side road connects a Target and Walmart off Dale Mabry Highway and County Line Road.

Health and safety concerns over excessive dumping in Pasco County

It's a story ABC Action News has been following for more than a year where people keep illegally dumping different materials, however, the county says since they've put up the barricades it's deterred people.

Last January, the county came to clean up the excessive trash after our story aired showing the concerns.

Officials then told us they cleaned up 7.9 tons of trash on private property.

The Pasco County Solid Waste crew spent eight hours total cleaning up the location -- four hours one afternoon, and four hours the next morning.

The county says the road is owned by a private owner and they have been working with the County Attorney's office for a solution. As of now, the trash is still sitting there.

It is unclear when it will be cleaned up.
