TAMPA, Fla. — The City of Tampa is hosting an open house public meeting on January 21 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. regarding the Channel District Improvements project.

The city is asking all residents, property and business owners to attend the public meeting, which will be held in the Port Tampa Bay Board Room, 1101 Channelside Dr., Tampa, FL 33602.

At the meeting city leaders will give new information regarding the new parking changes that will take place as part of the project.

Once the project is complete there will be on-street parking throughout most of the Channelside District.

In areas where there is already on-street parking, some of the angled parking spots will be changed to parallel spots.

The city has been working to keep up with the growth of the neighborhood and says these parking changes are a necessary next step.

“Our master plan envisioned putting all new streetscapes and realigning the roads to have on street parking and to be addressable and walkable within the new neighborhood,” said Urban Development Manager Rob Rosner.
