MacDill Air Force Base says active-duty sailor has tested positive for coronavirus

TAMPA, Fla. -- An active-duty sailor who is assigned to MacDill Air Force Base has tested positive for coronavirus.

According to an announcement on Friday, the sailor is believed to have contracted coronavirus during a recent travel.

“Right now, we have one confirmed case of COVID-19 on our installation,” said Col. Stephen Snelson in a Facebook post.

The MacDill Air Force Base remains in “Health Protection Condition Level Bravo,” according to its announcement.
