PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- BayCare Health System announced on Thursday that it will close two Tampa Bay testing locations: Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg and Gulf High School in Pasco County.

BayCare says Friday, July 31 will be the last day of COVID-19 tests for those two locations.

Starting Monday, August 3, BayCare and the Florida Department of Health in Pasco County (DOH Pasco) will open a new testing site at Gulfview Square Mall at 9409 U.S. Highway 19, Port Richey. It will open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

BayCare and Pinellas County are also working to open a new drive-through testing spot somewhere more accessible for central and north Pinellas residents.

BayCare explained in a press release that these service changes were made to better align "resources with community need and further collaborate with government partners."
