Friday, July 5

Jurassic Quest
When: July 5-7
Where: Florida State Fairgrounds at 4800 US-301, Tampa

Info: Jurassic Quest is coming to Tampa! Go back in time 60 million years and see more than 80 living, walking, breathing animatronic dinosaurs. Jurassic Quest is the largest and most realistic dinosaur event in North America and it is now EVEN BIGGER! Enjoy huge, new 24-foot Carnotaurus & T-Rex rides (the LARGEST rideable dinosaurs in North America), new walking dinosaur rides, new fossil digs, and a new dino petting zoo for toddlers. There will also be various food vendors to pick from. Parking is $8.

Boats on the Block Block Party
When: 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Where: Main Street and S. Palm Ave, Sarasota

Info: Meet the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix race teams up close! Boats will be on display from Orange Avenue to Gulfstream Avenue and on S. Palm Avenue in Downtown Sarasota—a great photo opportunity for the entire family! There will also be live music at the event.

Hugh Jackman: The Man. The Music. The Show.

Where: Amalie Arena at 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa

Independence Day Weekend Silent Disco
When: 9 p.m. - 1 a.m.
Where: American Social at 601 South Harbour Island Blvd Suite 107, Tampa

Info: A day after the smoke clears from the fireworks, enjoy a silent disco at American Social Tampa. Just $10 gets you your headsets for the night and access to the best in hip-hop, dance, reggaeton, 80s, 90s, and much more played by three skilled DJs. Looking to switch things up? Just use the controls to change DJs or turn the volume down and take a break at the bar. Price also includes one free drink if you buy your ticket before 8:30 p.m. on July 5.

Glow Throw at Axe Throwing Tampa
When: 10 p.m. - 11:15 p.m.
Where: Axe Throwing Tampa at 5811 Memorial Highway #204, Tampa

Info: Throw axes in the dark at this glow-in-the-dark event! Coaches will teach you different types of axe throws, like underhand, backwards, one-handed and two handed. Anyone feeling particularly adventurous can try throwing two axes at once. Glow Throw is offered every other Friday night. Must book in advance to guarantee your throwing time.

Saturday, July 6

Sarasota Grand Prix Car Show & Motorcycle Dealer Event
When: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Where: Rossiter's Harley-Davidson at 330 Cattlemen Rd, Sarasota
Cost: $20 show entry fee per vehicle
Info: View dozens of classic and late model cars at Rossiter's Harley-Davidson Dealership. There is no pre-registration, and no coolers are allowed.

Dunedin Food Tour
When: 1 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
Where: Lucky Lobster at 941 Huntley Ave, Dunedin

Info: Get a taste of local cuisine in Dunedin. Try seafood, craft beer and more from across 5-7 independently-owned locations situated along the Pinellas Trail. ‘Merica Land of the FREE Night

Info: Watch the Tampa Tarpons take on the Clearwater Threshers. This Independence Day Weekend celebration ends with a Post-Game Movie on the field. When a Tarpons pitcher strikes out a batter, a select special will be activated for the night. (Special will last 60 minutes.) Player autographs will be on the concourse from 5:40 p.m. - 6 p.m. Parking is always FREE.

Summer Classics: Sing-Along Grease

Where: Tampa Theatre at 711 N Franklin St, Tampa

Info: Based on a hit Broadway musical and full of catchy songs, Grease elevates the teenage high-school romance of greaser Danny (John Travolta) and prim Australian Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) as they navigate their respective cliques to Hollywood perfection. SiriusXM Presents Train/Goo Goo Dolls
