TAMPA, Fla.—If you have ever wanted to safely throw axes in the dark, Axe Throwing Tampa has got you covered.

Glow Throw is a special event that combines UV lights, neon paint and axe throwing. The axe handles are wrapped in neon tape and the target boards are covered in glow-in-the-dark paint. Guests are encouraged to wear white and neon colors so they can 'glow' as well.

“Well who wouldn’t want to throw axes—sharp objects, dangerous objects—in the dark, right?” said axe throwing expert coach, Stephen Pandis. “It’s not hard. It’s a...little intimidating at first, but you can get the hang of it pretty quick.”

Guest will learn different types of axe throws, like underhand, backwards, one-handed and two handed. Anyone feeling particularly adventurous can try throwing two axes at once.

“We will teach you, keep you safe and make sure you have a good time,” Pandis said.

Once you learn the basics you can try games like Horse, same as the basketball game but with axes, or Black Jack, where the first person to score exactly 21 points on the target wins.

Glow Throw usually runs every other Friday night at 10 p.m. Sessions are $35 per person for 75 minutes of throwing time. Bookings need a minimum of two people and session require at least four people to run.
