Polk County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who used counterfeit money to pay for a computer and two phone cards.

The crime happened Tuesday at the Walmart along Highway 98 N in Lakeland.

According to authorities, he used 33 counterfeit $20 bills.

The shopper was captured on surveillance video walking with a woman and two children. Whether they are related to the man or not, deputies want you to call them if you can identify either one of the adults. They were captured together the entire shopping trip.

"He's giving them a bad example. Hopefully in this case, these kids are too young, or maybe didn't know what was going on. But this is, it's just rotten," said Scott Wilder.

Wilder is the Director of Communications for the Polk County Sheriff's Office. He said since the beginning of the year, they have investigated more counterfeit money cases in the county.

If you have any information on this case, contact the sheriff's office or Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 226-TIPS.
