TAMPA, FLA - Detectives said a St. Petersburg man was robbed in the parking lot of an upscale mall.

Officials said Mercedes Corrales is expected to be charged with armed robbery. She responded to an ad on Offer Up for the sale of a digital camera.

Tampa PD said Corrales met the victim in the parking lot of International Plaza. They said the victim got into her car, she pointed a handgun at him, and demanded the camera for free. The victim handed over the camera. Corrales drove off. According to officers, she was picked up in South Florida on an unrelated charge.

Officers stress people need to be careful and safe when meeting up with a stranger. They said people should meet in a public location that has cameras or at a police station.
