LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix says their face mask requirement remains in place as the state moves into Phase 3 of reopening.
Gov. DeSantis announced Phase 3 during a press conference in St. Petersburg on September 25. Under the new phase, restaurants and select businesses can operate at full capacity.
The order also suspended fines and penalties associated with COVID-19-related enforcement. But the order does not override local mask ordinances.

A spokesperson for the grocery chain said, "we have made no changes to our current policies in light of the Phase 3 announcement." The stores started requiring face coverings in July.
In August, Publix eliminated one-way aisles in locations where there wasn't a local ordinance requiring it.
