TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — There’s a new push by Florida lawmakers to improve the foster care system.
It’s SB 1326, or the DCF Accountability Act.
It would create the Office of Quality Assurance and Improvement inside of DCF.
A chief quality officer would make sure DCF standards are high and are being met.
This bill also has a focus on improving the foster care system to adopt kids into permanent homes.
The bill was filed in December and the senate is expected to discuss it Tuesday at a committee meeting.
