Here's how it's impacting some weekend events:

Clearwater Jazz Festival: Performances are canceled for Friday night. Saturday and Sunday shows are still on, for the time bring. Organizers encourage you to follow the event on social media for more information.

Clearwater Chalk Art Festival: 40 artists started their chalk masterpieces Friday. By late afternoon, they were forced to abandon their creations, covering them with cardboard, heavy plastic and duck tape. It's unclear if the pieces will weather the storm. The competition will pick back up once the weather improves.

John's Pass Seafood Festival in Madeira Beach: Organizers say it will go on as planned and vendors are required to weigh down tents and tarps to keep items from turning into projectiles in the wind. Organizers say attendees can seek shelter inside businesses and restaurants during the event.

Italian Food and Wine Festival St. Pete: Organizers decided to cancel the event due to inclement weather.
