ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The effort to curb violence in St. Petersburg continues this year with the 4th annual Not My Son campaign.

It is a grassroots community outreach program targeted towards African American males, ages 12-24 years old.

City officials say the primary goal of the campaign is to promote positive achievement and anti-crime awareness.

There will be a community canvas rally every Friday this summer on the streets of St. Petersburg,

The first one will be May 31 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 2101 22nd Ave S.
