A serial armed robber is now behind bars in Pasco County.
On Sunday March 11, a Pasco Corporal of the District II STAR Unit pulled over a vehicle in the area of Bruce B Downs Blvd. and Eagleston Drive in Wesley Chapel who was speeding. The driver, 23 year old Robert Dumas, was arrested for possession of marijuana but the Corporal had no idea what he would find in the car.

While searching the vehicle, the Corporal located a firearm and a mask, as well as shoes and clothing which matched the description from a string of recent armed robberies in the area.
“Each thing we found it was appearing more and more likely that it might be him. There’s was different article of clothing. There was the weapon,” said Pasco County Sheriff's Corporal Andrew Debow
Dumas and the vehicle matched the description of the armed robberies, according to Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
The Corporal interviewed Dumas who eventually confessed to the string of armed robberies in District II.
The string of armed robberies occurred at the following locations:
- Citgo Gas Station In Wesley Chapel on February 8th
- Best Western Hotel in Wesley Chapel on February 8th
- Metro PCS in Zephyrhills on February 10th
- Be Creative Painting Studio in Wesley Chapel on February 13
- Subway Restaurant in Wesley Chapel on February 13th
“We have him outside the businesses for periods of time making sure there’s minimal employees and/or customers inside the businesses," said Detective Daniel Toner.
