The Clearwater Marine Aquarium said they made the decision to release the whales late Wednesday night after determining that they were ready to be reunited with the three other whales that were found beached.
"This decision was made after further observing the path of the other three whales who continue to head in a positive direction, away from the coast, and with the desire to get the whales back into the natural habitat as soon as possible."
The whales were transferred from vans to a large boat at Anclote River Park, according to Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
