COVID-19 cases soar in Pasco County Schools, district officials to hold a workshop with DOH

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — COVID-19 cases are growing in Pasco County Schools.

So far in November, the district has reported more than 200 new cases. On Monday alone, officials reported 20 new COVID-19 cases.

So far this year, 413 students and 153 employees have been infected with the virus.

Leaders are seeing a spike in cases across the district, but especially at the high schools.

On Tuesday, the school board is holding a workshop to talk about its COVID-19 response.

Officials tell ABC Action News they’re going to give an update on how cases in schools are going.

They’ll present numbers and talk about how cases have recently increased.

The director of the Pasco County Health Department is expected to attend the workshop.
