TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa photographer decided to use her work to help give the community a voice.

“With everything that’s been going on in our world lately, I started thinking about what I could do to make a difference,” said photographer Andi Diamond.

That’s when she turned to her camera for help and came up with the "Portraits 4 Progress" project.

“I think it’s created something very powerful, much more powerful than I thought it was going to be," said Diamond.

Diamond shot the project over multiple days and used her Facebook to put the word out that she wanted to give people a safe space to share their concerns and their fears.

Over the course of just 24 hours, she had about 70 people answer her call.

“Individuals, couples, families, Black, white, straight, gay, just all different walks of life," said Diamond.

Diamond hopes this resonates with the community.

“My inspiration really is that it just helps people to kind of look within themselves. Maybe look a little bit at your own prejudice that you may not realize that you’re carrying," said Diamond.
