RIVERVIEW, Fla. — A local 5-year-old who showcases his love of cooking with Facebook Live videos is a Food Network star in the making.
"So Miles, what is today," Monica Harris asks her son.
Miles replies enthusiastically, "My birthday!"
He giggles a second, then quickly jolts back into his "camera-ready" position.
"Ooh, grandma's on, grandma's on!"
His Facebook Live show, "Miles is Cooking," is his number one priority. He'll celebrate his birthday once he's done recording.
Miles is on a mission to build his Facebook followers. He has more than 100 so far. Sure, it's mainly family and friends right now, but he's determined to change that.
"I want a million," Miles says.
He knows exactly how long that will take, thanks to his mom. She turns the cooking classes into study sessions.
"I'm doing it whenever he wants to because I want to make it fun for him. It's really kind of whenever he wants to do it, encouraging his creativity," Harris says.
Miles has a heaping helping of that and personality.
"Miles stop eating the cheese," his mom says.
"I keep forgetting," he giggles on camera.
The pair cook on camera every week, usually something with cheese — his favorite — and try something new each time.
Miles is expanding his palate and his legion of fans.
"You have over 100 likes so far," his mom tells him.
"100?!"
Mom instructs him on making a quesadilla.
"Now get your cheese," she tells her son. He quickly says, "and eat it," then he giggles again.
Hey Miles, once you get to a million followers, you can eat as much cheese as you want.
