TAMPA, Fla. — Westshore Plaza will soon see changes.
The mall’s owner, Washington Prime Group, has filed new plans to redevelop part of the property.
The proposal includes space for retail, restaurants, a possible hotel, apartments or condos, office space and a grocery store.
There will also be changes to the traffic signal at the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard and Memorial Highway to help with traffic flow.
The existing Sears and Bank of American Branch are two of the buildings that will be torn down to make room for the new development.
Washington Prime Group first field different plans for this development last December, but this new proposal now includes more land.
The project will be built in phases. There’s no definite timeline for construction yet.
There will be a public hearing on the plans during a city council meeting on May 14.
