PASCO COUNTY, Fla. -- Strangers are stepping in to help a Tampa Bay teenager recover after he was violently attacked walking home from school.

Geoffrey Lehman was beaten and robbed by four men in February while on his way home from Gulf High School.

The attack left him with three missing teeth.

The 15-year-old has had to enroll in online classes. His mother tells ABC Action News going back to school is still overwhelming.

"Thought that they were going to accomplish something by attacking him but at the end, they’re going to be in jail or prison," said his mother Stephanie Byrd. "And Geoffrey is going to be the winner. He’s going to come out with a nice smile.”

Since then, a local dentist and oral surgeon has stepped up to offer Geoffrey free dental care, braces and eventually implants when he turns 18.

Byrd hopes her son will regain his confidence by getting a new smile.

“The most important thing is to make my son happy and to get his teeth back and make everything normal again for him," Byrd said.

Iron Dragon MMA in New Port Richey is also offering Geoffrey free lessons in self defense.

Owner Benjamin Dodgin says he's already seeing an improvement in the teen's demeanor.

"Being more confident, being more aware of your surroundings, giving you the opportunity to recognize even the escape route," Dodgin said.

As ABC Action News was first to report, the Pasco Sheriff's Office arrested four men involved in the attack on Geoffrey.
