These daily records have added to what overall is now the warmest February ever recorded in Tampa. The numbers are not even close. Our highs are running 10F above normal, lows 11F above normal and the overall average temperature is also nearly 11F above normal. With only 3 days left in the month and the forecast calling for more 80s, a record will certainly be set.

So far in February Tampa has averaged a high temperature of 82.6F. That's the first time Tampa has ever averaged highs in the 80s in February and 2.8F warmer than the next warmest Feb which was in 1949 when highs averaged 79.8F.

The weather we've seen so far in February has been on par with what's normal in Honolulu, HI this time of year.

It's not just Tampa either. Bradenton, Plant City, and Lakeland are all seeing their warmest February on record so far.

Cooler weather is finally in the forecast but will not arrive until the end of the week and weekend.
