Weekly report of COVID-19 in schools for the week of September 27th

As the 2020-2021 school year continues during the COVID-19 pandemic, ABC Action News will take parents and guardians through the numbers of COVID-19 in the Tampa Bay area school systems.

Hillsborough

  • 56 new cases among teachers and students
  • Sumner High School will play Durant High School in football. Durant was originally scheduled to play Kathleen High School (Polk).
  • Sickles High School will play Zephyrhills. Originally they were supposed to play Sunlake High School (Pasco).

Pinellas

  • 31 new cases among staff and students

      Polk

      • The district is removing their COVID-19 dashboard. So, the public will be required to depend on the State statistics that are released every Tuesday. Those numbers are a week old.
      • From September 27 through September 30th- the district saw 26 cases

        Pasco

        • 26 new cases among staff and students

        Sarasota

        • 7 cases among students and staff
        • Sarasota County changed it's COVID-19 Dashboard. The district no longer is identifying daily or cumulative cases, simply who in their schools is currently positive and/or isolated.

        Manatee

        • 2 new cases among students and staff.
        • No new cases reported on September 29th, 30th and October 1st.

            Highlands

            • 3 new cases among staff and students
            • No new cases reported on the 29th.

            Citrus

            • 12 new cases among students and staff.
