Dr. Jay Kimmel created the online portal a few years ago.

"We have a team of certified athletic trainers that are on call. These are the men and women who take care of like high school and college and professional athletes," Dr. Kimmel said. "They are just the perfect people to talk to if you want some advice."

Dr. Kimmel said this also helps people who may be apprehensive about entering a doctor's office or hospital in fear of contracting COVID-19.

"This can be for anything like a runner who twisted his ankle or it could be a parent who has a kid at home who is jumping off the couch and somebody gets hurt. They can come to our site and they can use what we call our symptom checker. Which is a way just as if you came to my office I would ask you a few questions and we would try to figure out what's wrong," Dr. Kimmel said.
