As Tropical Storm Isaias' track continues to shift east and away from Tampa Bay, some of the COVID-19 testing sites in our area will remain open this weekend. The announcement comes just hours after Florida's emergency management division initially announced it will temporarily shut down all state-supported testing sites.
Hillsborough County announced it will allow testing sites in the area to "continue as normal" as Isaias poses less of a threat to Tampa Bay than we had all initially anticipated.
The Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) said on Thursday night that state-run sites in Charlotte, Escambia, Hillsborough, Lake, Lee, Leon, Manatee, Okaloosa, Pasco, Polk and Sarasota counties can remain open.

The original announcement of the temporary shutdowns only applied to state-run sites.
