TAMPA, Fla. — Publix is not giving away an hour of free shopping to 90 families, despite a post circulating on Facebook that claims the company is.

A post from an account claiming to be part of Publix called "Publix Club" posted the fake offer on Wednesday. It was shared more than 70,000 times, at the time of publication.
After reaching out to Publix to ask about the post, they told ABC Action News, "We appreciate you checking in. No, this is a fraudulent post. We have already reported it to Facebook and are working through the process."

It's important to remember that if you see something you think is a scam, you should avoid responding and report the scam to Facebook.
