CLEARWATER, Fla. — Protesters gathered in two Pinellas County locations to call for the reopening of gyms and fitness centers.
As of May 11, gyms are still not allowed to reopen in the state, per Phase 1 of Governor Ron DeSantis' "SAFE. SMART. STEP-BY-STEP PLAN" to reopen Florida.

The protests come as barber shops, hair and nail salons were allowed to reopen in Florida. In Clearwater, videos of protestors doing pushups outside the courthouse went viral on social media.
Protesters say they were frustrated with Gov. DeSantis' decisions to keep the gyms closed.
