TAMPA, Fla. — A fairly new Tampa Bay area non-profit is feeling the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kennedy Cares Tampa Bay is run by some moms who love to give back. They provide temporary care to families with items like clothes, diapers, formula and dishes.

It has been up and running for six years, but is already hoping to expand.

"We're growing the pandemic has caused a lot more help. It's all volunteers and monetary by donors," explains Sandy Parlett, Co-Founder of Kennedy Cares.

With more people needing help, the need for donations is going up, too.

Kennedy Cares is hoping to gain some more storage space to meet the growing demand.

"We just finished our toy drive helping 350 children get new toys or almost new toys this year," explains Parlett.
