A Florida documentary series titled 'Making it in America' highlights Ybor City and the success of immigrant entrepreneurs.

The video by Explica Media was independently produced to show the wide-range of entrepreneurs that includes an immigrant from Panama.

Roberto Torres, owner of the Blind Tiger Cafe, is highlighted in the video by showcasing his coffee shop that sits on the corner of 7th Avenue.

"I knew that this is the land of the opportunity," he told Explica Media.

Ybor City features a majority of immigrant businesses -- and Ybor's Chamber of Commerce says it continues to grow.

Along with immigrant entrepreneurs opening shops, technology companies are now moving in also.

According to the New American Economy, data shows there are more than 23,000 immigrant entrepreneurs inside the Tampa metro area.

Helping make all of this possible is the Entrepreneur Collaborative Center through Hillsborough County's Economic Development Department.

The center helps provide access to business services and resources to help entrepreneurs get on their feet, free of charge.

They also team up with minority and Hispanic organizations to help provide a resource for those trying to start their own business.
