Meet Snooty, the world’s oldest manatee!

He turned 69 years old on Friday, which breaks another Guinness World Record for the oldest manatee in captivity.

This celebrity sea cow was born July 21, 1948 at the Miami Aquarium. Since then, he has spent most of his life in Manatee County, Florida.

He became so popular, Snooty was made the county’s official mascot in 1979.

The South Florida Museum throws Snooty a birthday party every year to celebrate his milestone.

Check out Snooty’s 69th Birthday Bash at the South Florida Museum on Saturday, July 22 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The celebration will feature children's games, art activities, free cookies and drinks for the children, Snooty the Manatee Mascot Contest and much more.

Admission to the outdoor birthday party is free. All day reduced admission prices to the museum, aquarium and planetarium are $9 for adults, $8 for seniors (65 and over), $7 for children ages 4-12, and children under 4 are free with a paying adult.

The South Florida Museum is located at 201 West 10th Street, Bradenton, Florida.
