BP has started the process of evacuating personnel and shutting down production at four of its platforms in the Gulf of Mexico due to Hurricane Michael's predicted path.

In a statement, DP said it is in the process of evacuating personnel and shutting down the following oil rigs: Atlantis, Mad Dog, Na Kika and Thunder Horse.

BP said it is currently monitoring Hurricane Michael to ensure the safety of all its personnel and operations in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.
