Cone Zones: Tampa Bay road construction projects that could affect your commute 9/2 to 9/8

The following is road construction information for the bay area from Saturday, September 2 through Friday, September 8. For a list of all projects, visit www.mytbi.com.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY:
The westbound I-4 ramp onto northbound I-75 will be closed between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday (September 5 - 7) nights.

  • DETOUR: Bear left at the ramp split to go south on I-75, use Exit 260 to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard/SR 574, turn left at the top of the ramp and go east on SR 574 over I-75, then turn left and enter northbound I-75.

HERNANDO COUNTY:
State Road 50 will be closed at I-75 between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday (September 5 - 7) nights. All ramps will be open, but no traffic will be able to cross under I-75 on SR 50. Traffic will be detoured onto the interstate to the next interchange and then back onto the interstate in the other direction to exit at SR 50 and continue in the original travel direction. Here are the specific detour directions:

  • EASTBOUND SR 50 DETOUR: Eastbound SR 50 traffic will be detoured onto southbound I-75 and use Exit 293 to CR 41. Drivers will turn right at the end of the ramp onto CR 41, cross over I-75, then turn left and enter northbound I-75 and use the northbound Exit 301 to SR 50.
     
  • WESTBOUND SR 50 DETOUR: Westbound SR 50 traffic will be detoured onto northbound I-75 and use Exit 309 (CR 476). Drivers will turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto CR 476, cross over I-75, then turn left and enter southbound I-75 and use the southbound Exit 301 to SR 50.

HOLIDAY CONSTRUCTION:
No lane closures are scheduled on the interstate system in the construction zones in Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties during the Labor Day holiday period from Friday afternoon, September 1 through Monday, September 4.
