AAA says today is the start of a busy 11 day holiday travel season. In fact, this year will be a record setting one for travelers.
AAA expects more than 100 million people to travel at least 50 miles away from their home in the next 11 days.
Most are expected to travel by car this holiday season, and thats due to the record setting low gas prices.
ABC Action News is taking action for your family this morning with some tips to get you to where you’re going safety.
- Make sure you check those tires! Low tire pressure can lead to bad gas mileage and blowouts. The manufacturers recommended tire pressure can be found on the drivers door frame on a white black and yellow sticker.
- Check your wiper blades! If they are streaking they are worn out or dirty. A quick tip to get some more life out of those blades. Use a cloth with rubbing alcohol on it to clean the rubber part of your blade. If they aren’t too damaged this could help extend their life.
- Leave yourself some extra time before you head out the door. Un-needed stress can lead to distracted driving.
