Gas prices slip in time for Christmas travel

Average retail gasoline prices in Tampa have fallen .08 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.93/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 1,260 gas outlets in Tampa.
 
This compares with the national average that has fallen 1.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $1.99/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com. 
 
More average prices:
  •  Sarasota- $1.98/g, down .07 cents per gallon from last week's $1.98/g.
  •  Florida- $2.01/g, down 1.2 cents per gallon from last week's $2.03/g.
  •  Orlando- $1.95/g, down 1.1 cents per gallon from last week's $1.96/g.
 
Including the change in gas prices in Tampa during the past week, prices yesterday were 44.5 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 12.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 8.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 39.4 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
