TAMPA, Fla. — As the race for the White House stretches into the weekend, supporters rallied for presidential candidates in Tampa Bay.

Two groups held dueling demonstrations in Tampa on Friday.

ABC Action News found a party-like atmosphere at Casa Biden in West Tampa.

Supporters and campaign volunteers cheered passing traffic while banging pots and pans.

“Are we glued to the TV, of course we are,” said Angelique Mathena. “But this was a great way to pull ourselves away from the screen, to just send out some positive energy.”

While the presidency remains too close to call, Biden/Harris supporters are confident they have good reason to celebrate.

“It’s going exactly the way we expected, we have to patient,” said Mathena. “And if there’s anything we learned in 2020, it’s patience.”

A few miles away, a group of President Trump supporters lined North Dale Mabry Highway, many waving signs and American flags.

“He is concerned with legal elections,” said Deborah Tamargo. “He is concerned in staying in the fight to secure a legal election.”

As the ballot count continues in four key states, Trump supporters in Tampa say their president will keep fighting.

“Donald Trump is a fighter, he has his work cut out for him but I think he can win,” said John King.
