Tampa Bay Lightning 2017-2018 schedule unveiled

Posted

The NHL released the full schedule for the 2017-2018 regular season Thursday afternoon.

It's been a busy week in hockey, as the league unveiled the slate of opening night games Wednesday, just a few hours before the expansion draft. The 2017 NHL draft will begin Friday and wrap up on Saturday.

On opening night, the Tampa Bay Lightning will take on the Florida Panthers at Amalie Arena on October 6. The Bolts will then immediately head to Sunrise to play the Panthers in the back half of a home and home series.

Four of the Bolts' first five games are at home.

This NHL season is sure to be an interesting one, especially for the Tampa Bay area. January 27-28 marks All-Star weekend, happening in Tampa this year.

The league also announced Monday that the NHL will not participate in the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang, saying the matter is "officially closed."
