HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — It’s advertised as a premiere party but one local official is calling the Super Bowl celebration a potential superspreader event.

Super Glow Tampa is scheduled to take place Feb. 5 at the Dallas Bull, just two nights before Super Bowl Sunday.

According to the organizers, the event will be hosted by celebrities Rick Ross and 2 Chainz.

The Super Bowl party features V.I.P. seating, a D.J., and a body painting contest with a $2,000 prize.

“The likelihood of actually following the rules and the recommendations is pretty slim and it does seem to be irresponsible in my opinion,” said Hillsborough County Commissioner Kimberly Overman.

Overman said code enforcement will look into the event as teams inspect venues across the county leading up to and during Super Bowl weekend.

“We aren’t winning the war against covid,” said Overman. “When events like this occur it creates a great risk for so many in our community.”

The owner of the Dallas Bull said he didn’t have any comment when ABC Action News reporter Ryan Smith asked how COVID-19 safety mandates will be followed during the party.

Several messages to the party’s listed promoter, Melody Lives Fit Productions, have not been returned.

Check out their Facebook page here.

A web site promoting the event asks that anyone who feels sick to stay home.

“If you choose to attend Super Glow Tampa, please keep in mind the CDC recommendations on how to keep yourself and others healthy,” the web site reads in part.

But nowhere does it outline mask mandates or say if those in attendance will be required to stay seated at a table, as required by a Hillsborough County emergency order.

Patrons are also not allowed to congregate in open spaces like dance floors, according to the emergency order amended in December.
