Scott, USF football face challenging schedule

TAMPA - — First-year head coach Jeff Scott has the South Florida football program jumping right into the deep water in 2020. ESPN ranked the Bulls' schedule the second-toughest in the country. Only South Carolina's is rated higher on the difficulty scale.

USF's opponents finished 97-57 in 2019. Scott thinks the American Athletic Conference could be slightly underrated. The AAC finished last season with four ranked teams, and he's looking to make that five very soon.

"You really can’t come into a program and really make the moves on an upward trajectory without playing talent teams," Scott said via video chat. "Our mindset is 'Anybody, anywhere, anytime.' I know it will be a challenging schedule, but I think it will be a great measuring stick for us next year to kind of find out where we are as a program and what we need to do take that next step."

The Bulls kick off the 2020 season September 5th at Texas. They open conference play October 3rd at Cincinnati. Their final four games include road trips to Memphis and Houston, and home match-ups with Navy and UCF.
