It appeared that a lost edge on his skate sent Nikita Kucherov to the ice and shoulder first into the side board last night against Montreal.
Kucherov immediately looked as if he was in pain. He went to the bench and was in obvious discomfort.
Kucherov did try and go out on the next shift, but that was the last time he would take the ice.
After the game, Lightning Head Coach Jon Cooper would not elaborate on Kucherov's injury, but you could sense that Coop's was concerned.
The Lightning went on to lose to the Canadiens 3-1. Alex Killorn scoring his 6th goal of the season on a beautiful pass by Victor Hedman.
Bolts are now 2-1 on their six-game road trip.
