TAMPA, Fla. — Some organizations are on a mission to feed thousands of people in the Tampa Bay area.
Rotary District 6890 launched an initiative called One Million Meals in May.
"When there's a call to action, we jump," says Darren Kipnis, District Governor for Rotary District 6890.
The organization is partnering to feed thousands of families across the Tampa Bay region through their partnership with Feeding Tampa Bay.
"We have a wonderful community and I want to keep it that way and I think if we do things like this and make this place a little better every day we're doing our job," says Kipnis.
The goal is to raise $100,000 for the non-profit.
Already $60,000 was raised in just two weeks.
When the $100,000 mark is reached, a donor will match that amount to bring the total to $200,000 which equals one million meals.
