Wouldn’t it be amazing to have an extra $5,000 for your athletic organization? Think of the end-of-season party you could throw!
People Magazine and Arm & Hammer have teamed up to award 20 coaches with that amount of money as a way of simply saying thanks.
The “Thank You, Coach” $100,000 Giveaway is open to nominations from anyone in the 50 U.S. states and Washington D.C. Minors must have their parent or legal guardian’s permission to participate.
Those applying have until 11:59 p.m. ET on Sept. 30 to do so. You can do it through an online form, via Instagram, or send in a postcard.
The sweepstakes is designed for folks to nominate coaches who inspire them and lead their teams to personal victories.
The coach must be 18 or older, in charge of a sports team of players in grades 1-12 or ages 6-17 during the most recent or the upcoming season. The teams have to be linked to youth sports organizations, public schools or accredited private or charter schools.
Young athletes may choose to send in a nomination via social media, since we’re in an era in which most youngsters are using Instagram to communicate. If so, they must simply upload and share a photo of the nominated coach and/or themselves to Instagram. They should share how much the coach empowers them and include the coach’s name and team name.
The Instagram post needs to have the hashtags #MorePowerToYou and #Sweepstakes, and the post should tag @armandhammer. Also, entrants should follow Arm & Hammer, as winners will be notified via comment or direct message from the company.
Young people aren’t the only ones who may nominate a coach for the $5,000 scholarship. The rules state anyone 13 and older may nominate a coach.

Organizers of the sweepstakes advise nominators to get the permission of the coach before using their photo and their name in the application. You will need the coach’s name and phone number to apply, so this won’t be a surprise for them.
Winners will be notified by email or telephone by Oct. 17, 2019.
Arm & Hammer and People Magazine are giving away $100,000 in total to coaches and we’re excited to see how the money will be used! We know there are a lot of teams out there that could use new equipment or upgrades to their facilities.
