FLORIDA — lf you receive a phone call from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, be suspicious.
That's the advice from Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.
She says imposters are trying to trick callers into thinking FDLE is on the line and are demanding money. The phone number appears to be from FDLE but it's a trick known as spoofing.
Moody says FDLE does not call demanding payment or other personal information.
If you think you are being scammed, Moody says call FDLE at (850) 410-7000 and report it. You can also call (866) 9NO-SCAM.
