A police report says the men lowered the tow truck's boom and went into reverse "at a high rate of speed" into a police cruiser "in an attempt to impale the officer." The officer wasn't injured.

Police say it started when an officer tried to pull over the tow truck for improperly hauling the pickup truck. The report says an officer approached and the men dropped the pickup and drove off

Both men have a criminal history.

Court records show Valdespino Rodriguez is on probation for grand theft auto until July 12 for fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer n 2015.

Aguirre was out of jail on a $20,500 bond after officers arrested him in May for grand theft, burglary and criminal mischief. He previously received probation for battery, grand theft and altering the ID number of a boat.
