FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — A 4-year-old girl who wasn’t strapped into a car seat died when the car she was riding in crashed into a utility pole while trying to make a U-turn in front of oncoming vehicles.
News outlets report that three other people in the car were injured in the Tuesday night crash near Fort Lauderdale.
Broward Sheriff’s officials say the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta carrying Majesty Folson turned into the path of a Nissan Pathfinder, which couldn’t avoid the crash. It hit the passenger side of the Jetta, sending it into the utility pole.

An investigation continues.
