After the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, Calif., Walt Disney World is upping security by banning people older than 14 from wearing costumes and installing metal detectors at all its Orlando theme parks.
Disney will no longer sell toy guns and won’t allow guests to bring them onto the property, reports WFTV in Orlando.
Universal Studios has begun testing metal detectors at its theme parks, according to the park.
“We want our guests to feel safe when they come here, said Tom Schroder with NBCUniversal Orlando. “We’ve long used metal detectors for special events, such as Halloween Horror Nights. This test is a natural progression for us as we study best practices for security in today’s world.”
