CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Tampa Bay area crews have joined the fight to put out a brush fire in Southwest Florida.
North Port Fire Rescue joined crews in West Charlotte County Tuesday afternoon.

According to Scripps Station WFTX, the brush fire is about 50% contained and has burned about 60 to 80 acres.
Some residents were asked by deputies to evacuate their homes.
