This is what some would call an easy catch.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission says its officers recently cited a man for catching a gator without a permit after discovering the evidence – gator parts – scattered in the cab of his truck.
A gator’s foot was sitting in the dashboard.
The driver told officers the parts were from a gator he killed a few years ago, but another obvious clue indicated otherwise: The smell.
After officers read him his rights, the agency says he confessed.
The incident happened in the J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area in southeast Florida.
The commission posted the story on its Facebook page Monday along with a picture of the aforementioned foot-in-dashboard.
They included a link with information on obtaining an alligator hunting permit.
